ABOUT JULIA PEAVY
Who I interviewed
Julia Peavy is my amazing mother. She is very successful in business, and has moved her way through many companies. Julia Peavy is a Senior Manager on the Customer Success team at Snapdocs, where she is responsible for ensuring that all customers get up and running on Snapdocs so they can benefit from the Snapdocs closing products and ecosystem. Prior to Snapdocs, Julia held a variety of roles in Customer Success and Professional Services in email marketing. Juila holds a MA in International Studies from the University of Denver. She has always been an inspiration to me, and I have always thought that she has been a very creative person.

CREATIVITY AND CREATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING
Through my own research, I found a ton of different ways to be creative and use creativity to solve problems. Three ways to activate your creative side more are:
Incorporate creative expression in all areas of your life. The way you write emails, dress, decorate are all forms of expression
Study people and design and watch people explore the world
Create more and share more. Having an idea won’t get you all the way there. Creating a business plan on how to execute the idea is creative expression. People who don’t say that they are creative usually are adverse to the hard work of transforming a good idea into something amazing. You need more than just the idea.
Benefits of creative thinking in the workplace include improved problem solving capabilities, stronger interpersonal connections, heightened productivity, and higher self-awareness.
SURPRISING AND INTERESTING FINDINGS
Technology has made a huge difference when it comes to productivity these days. There are so many more ways to collaborate in creative ways online now.
Being creative not only helps us improve our projects, but it also helps us improve our own lives by keeping us engaged, reducing stress, and improves our everyday skills.
Sometimes being bored and thinking can be the most helpful thing to become creative.
Julia talked about how creativity is an ongoing process like this picture above. It is a process that starts off with an idea, and that idea keeps getting refined and refined until it is the best it can get
The most surprising thing I learned from Julia is that creativity is often fostered better in a team setting. Having multiple people all throw their best, most creative ideas at a problem will usually end up with the best solution.
CONCLUSION AND REFLECTION
What I learned
Interviewing Julia was really amazing, and I got some very interesting insight on creativity in the workplace. I now believe that creativity has an important place in all forms of work. I think that especially in todays quickly changing business world, being creative will give you a leg up. Computers can do a lot of things, but creativity from the human mind will never be changed. From now on, I will take the things I have learned from my mother, and the internet and apply them to my future life. I will harness the power of creativity in my schooling and my life.
